Report: Sunderland target Freddie Ladapo and John Marquis as their main two striker targets
꧋Sunderland want to sign a new striker this summ𒊎er and have identified two targets. Freddie Ladapo and John Marquis are Sunderland’s top two striker targets this summer, .
Plymouth Argyle striker Ladapo has just s꧒een a £500,000 move to P🌞ortsmouth collapse. Pompey have withdrawn from the race due to financial reasons, leaving Sunderland open to complete this capture.
Ladapo was in red hot form for the Pilgrims last season, despite their relegation. The ꦿ26-year-old netted 19 times in 49 games and is a proven League One goal threat.
John Marquis is another target for Sunderland. The 27-year-old is𒁃 also wanted by Championship clubs, though, including QPR ().

Last season, Marquis🍃 lit up League One with hi꧃s goals. In 54 games, the Doncaster Rovers striker struck 26 goals to help his side to the play-off semi-finals.
Sunderland’s current striker options are Will Grigg and Charlie Wyke. But neither were able to replace Josh Maja’s goals after he joined Borde🐠aux in January.
Jack Ross wants a new forward this summer and he has identified Ladapo and Marquis as his primary targets. Both h🍒ave proven track records in the third tier.
TBR’s view
Ross is wise to target players who know where the net is at💧 this level. Both players might cost a relatively sizeable fee for League Oneꦅ standards but the Black Cats should be able to afford it.
With a str✱ikeforce of Grigg, Wyke and Ladapo or Marquis, as well as Duncan Watmore, Sunderland should have the firepower to take League One by storm next season.
