Report: Newcastle have taken information on Arsenal target Álvaro Morata
Newcastle have taken information on Alvaro Morata, that the Magpies have joined Arsenal in the race to sign the striker this summer.
Morata’s future remains unclear. He has just completed a two-year loan with Juventus. And the Old Lady have the option to make his move permanent for £30 million.
Juve do want to keep Morata. However, they do not want to spend that much on the 29-year-old. Instead, they would rather pay around £17 million for the former Chelsea star.
And with that, the door is open for a host of sides. In fact, reports late last month even claimed that Arsenal were very close to sealing a £25 million move for Morata.
It does appear that those reports were premature. that the Gunners do want the Spain international, as do Barcelona.
And the report adds that Newcastle have taken information on Morata. Atletico Madrid meanwhile, are looking for around £25 million for the forward.

Newcastle are not planning to spend vast amounts of money this summer. that Eddie Howe will have less than £90 million to invest in the transfer market.
So it will be difficult to sign some of their marquee targets. Morata however, would be affordable when it comes to the transfer fee.
He is someone who boasts a decent, if unspectacular, record at every club he has played for. And he has played for some of the world’s best.
He has won league titles in Spain and Italy. And he has won the Champions League twice. Morata has been labelled an ‘‘ striker by Luis Enrique. And he could prove to be a smart signing for Newcastle.
But it would potentially prove to be a gamble with the likes of Juve and Arsenal seemingly stalling over his £25 million price-tag.
