Report: Newcastle eye £27m PSG left-footer, new owners taking a ‘keen interest’

Newcastle and their new owners are taking a ‘keen 🎉🎃interest’ in PSG left-back Abdou Diallo – ahead of the January window.

Diallo, 25, only joined PSG from Dortmund in t♔he summer of 2019 for a fee of £27million (FM). H⛎e has since clocked up 68 appearances.

This season, it has already been a tale of two halves. The five-time Senegal international started the fi🔴rst💝 five Ligue 1 outings, but has been dropped.

Indeed,ღ Diallo has only featured in two of PSG’s last eight league games. I🧔n the Champions League, he has been an unused substitute in three of four.

He is very much a fringe player at PSG. Diallo is꧒ yet to find a proper home, with Mainz, Monaco, Dortmund, PSG and Zulte all on his CV at just 25.

But Newcastle want a left-back and the new owners are loo𝄹king at Diallo in depth. It remains to be seen if🍃 PSG are keen to sell, and for how much.

Diallo to Newcastle: He could finally solve long-standing left-back issue…

It has been a long time since Newcastle fans could honestly say that left-back was not a problem positionಞ. Since Jetro Willems, really.

Even the Netherlands international was only on loan, and suffered a long-♈term knee injury halfway through that season-long loan.

Since promotion, Paul Dummett has been out of his depth. Kenedy and Antonio Ba𝓡rreca were brought in on loan, but failed to have an impact.

Jamal Lewis was signed for £15million, but has played just twice ✅𝓡this season. Matt Ritchie, a right winger, has been filling in at left-back.

Diallo changes all that – but he could cost far more than the £27million PSG spe✤nt to sign him from Bundesliga side Dortmund.
