Report: Midfielder previously on Spurs radar snubs new deal, Paul Pogba said he ‘has everything’
A player linked with Tottenham Hotspur last year has reportedly snubbed a new deal at his current club.
According to a report by Spanish outlet last March, Spurs were one of several big sides keen on Rennes prodigy Eduardo Camavinga.
In October, linked Tottenham and Camavinga once again, claiming Jose Mourinho had him in his sights ahead of the January window.
Despite being just 18, the Frenchman has already clocked up 77 competitive appearances for Rennes, including four in the Champions League.
Camavinga also became the youngest player to play for France in over 100 years when he made his debut – and scored – against Ukraine last September.
According to , the midfielder will not be signing a new contract at Rennes, paving the way for an exit either this summer or when his current deal expires in 2022.
Although his parent club are keen to tie down one of their main assets to a lucrative new deal, Camavinga reportedly has “no intention” of committing his future to the club.
Rennes are currently in danger of missing out on European football next season, while they would likely push to include a high buyout clause in the revised contract, added The Athletic.

Despite his young age, Camavinga has already shown he’s a cut above in the French top flight, as shown by the fact he’s already made his debut for the world champions.
Paul Pogba is a huge fan of the youngster – he is quoted by as saying: “I only wish him the best and much more. He has everything for that. His future is in his hands.
“He is very at ease, he is a little dancer. He makes me think a bit about me. He is not a timid person.
“It is good, because he is confident. He has confidence in his qualities. He is a very good youngster, I like him enormously.”
If he continues in the same manner, who knows just how much potential could be untapped and how incredible he could become in a few years’ time.
