Report: Liverpool set to beat Leeds to Coventry defender Sam McCallum
Liverpool 💝are closing in on the signing of Coventry𒁃 City starlet Sam McCallum.
, Liverpool will beat Premier League rivals to McCall💜um in January. The Reds will then send McCallum back to Coventry to♔ see out the season on loan.
McCallum has been extensively scouted by a number of clubs this season. This report adds that Liverpool will beat Chelsea, Leicester City and Manchester City to his signature. But there have been as many as 20 clubs watching him. , the🍎 19-year-old has also been on the radar of Leeds United and Nottingham Forest.

Despit🎀e his young age, McCallum is now a regular in the Coventry starting line-up. The teenage left-back signed in summer 2018 after he was spotted in the V9 Academy set up by Jamie Varღdy.
Moving from Kent-based ಞnon-league side Herne Bay, McCallum played eight games last season for Coventry. This season, he has taken over from Brandon Mason as the starting left-back and added another 19 matches to his name.
But it looks like Liverpool🎃 will be developing McCallum as a long-term left-back option.
TBR’s view
McCallum i𓃲s an exciting talent, offering all the qualities you need from a modern-day left-back. Mason is arguably one of the best left-backs in the division so to be able to keep him out of the team speaks volumes about his ability.
The Englishman is takingꦦ his game to the next level with regular playing time in League One so loaning him back makes sense for all parties. If he can secure promotion with Coventry, he will return to Liverpool next summer full of confidence.
