Report: Leeds United and Coventry City want French giant Samuel Yohou

that Leeds United and Marcelo Bielsa are looking to raid French second-tier side Paris FC for defender Samuel Yohou on a free transfer – but the Argentine boss faces competition.

Yohou, 28, is out of contract with Paris FC this summer despite remaining one of the first names on the Ligue 2 side’s team sheet. He has played 21 of Paris FC’s 28 league games – as they look to avoid relegation.

In 17th place, Paris FC are dangling above the drop zone with 10 league games to play. But it will matter little to Yohou, who is out of contract this summer. Despite being much of an unknown, Bielsa is interested.

However, Coventry City are also interested as they potentially close in on promotion to the Championship – while Italian side Crotone are also keen. Leeds have recently signed a player from France’s second tier, in the form of Illan Meslier from Lorient.

TBR’s view – Yohou much of an unknown, but Bielsa knows best

Indeed, Bielsa brought in Ben White from Brighton at the start of the season on loan. Despite having no experience at Championship level, White was signed for his style of play at the back – and he has since starred for the Whites.

Premier League admirers and touted as a future England international, White is the prime example of Bielsa signing an unknown and that player going on to become sensational. Yohou could be exactly that.

Likely to be on small wages and a free transfer, there is little risk with signing Yohou.
