Report: Foyth transfer a ‘priority’ for Villarreal as talks begin with Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur defender Juan Foyth꧙ is a ‘priority’ transfer for Europa League winners Villarreal, .

𒀰Despite having a €15m (£13m) option to purchase the ace, the Spanish giants want to reduce that figure. The Yellow Submarine hope Spurs will lower their current asking price due to the current economic climate.

🎃Talks have started between Spurs and Villarreal CEO Fernando Roig Negueroles for the Argentine.

ꦛFollowing his success last season, Foyth is keen on staying with the La Liga outfit.

💝Unai Emery’s side have already started to build their squad following their victory over Manchester United in last week’s final.

ꦕMeanwhile, Spurs are deciding the futures of as many as following loan spells across Europe.

TBR View: Foyth transfer is abysmal business from Tottenham

🦄Foyth’s success under Emery last season should act as a warning to the Lilywhites. Selling the talented defender, and for a minimal fee, is a horrid decision especially in the current climate.

ꦉ£13m for such a versatile player means not only do they lose a first-team player but, also for a cheap price.

✨The 23-year-old played in defensive positions as the Spaniards won the Europa League.

Meanwhile, Spurs have question marks over the future of right-back Serge Aurier𝓰. The African has claimed he would like to move back to Paris Saint Germain this summer in a blow to the club.

༒Allowing Foyth to leave for such a low fee is horrible business for the club. However, their misery is compounded by the uncertain future of Aurier at right-back.

ജThe current climate of the transfer market also means replacements won’t be easy to come by.

❀Foyth could’ve been a valuable asset for the club. But, with the South American and Villarreal keen on a transfer, it seems he’s leaving Tottenham this summer.
