Report: Celtic keeping eye on Stoke City striker Tyrese Campbell

Celtic are reportedly interested in attacker Ty🦹rese Campbell from 🍌English Championship side Stoke City.

According to the Daily Record, the Bhoys have the 19-year-old on their radar and the club’s head 𒐪of football operations Nick Hammond is assessing potential January targe𝓡ts.

It is understood that Celtic are one of several clubs keeping an eye on the Stoke centre-forward, as his contract expires next summer and he’s yet to commit 💛his future at the☂ Bet365 Stadium.

The report explains that Neil Lennon’s team could potentially snap him up for just £350,000 in a cross-border compensation deal, deꦫspite him joining from Manchester City’s academy for £1.75million in 2016.

Campbell scored twice for Stoke’s Under-23s on Monday night and🔯 is knocking on the door for more senior opportunities.

The quick centre-forward has scored one goal in his 16 first-team appearances this campaign, but has failed to complete 90 minutes in a game a♚nd is still developing.

He’𓆉s♑ represented England at Under-20 level and is a rising talent with a bright future.

TBR’s View:

Celtic desperaꦫtely need some more reinforcements at striker and easing the burden off talisman Odsonne Edouard would be a big help.

Campbell is an intriguing target for the Scottish champions that looks like🦂 he could be a decent option, especially atꦐ such a minimal price due to cross-border compensation.

But the report explains that there are a host of teams 🐼eyeing the striker’s situation, so they should act quickly if they are serious about 𒆙signing him.

He enjoyed a decent loan spell at Shre꧑wsbury Town last season with five goals 🦩in 15 appearances for them, but it would be a big step up at Celtic.
