Report: Arsenal player’s told Arteta he wants to go; Newcastle keen

🌜Bernd Leno has made it clear that he wishes to leave Arsenal with Newcastle United eyeing an initial loan deal for the goalkeeper, .

🐭Leno has become a peripheral figure at the Emirates this season. It had appeared that he was set to remain number one following the arrival of Aaron Ramsdale in the summer.

🍷However, Ramsdale has taken his opportunity with both hands. And Leno has had to rely on cup games for opportunities since the first international break.

𓂃The German was lauded as one of Arsenal’s only decent performers in their recent FA Cup defeat to Nottingham Forest𝓑. And it now appears that he could be offered the chance to leave the Emirates this month.

β™Œ that Newcastle would like to take Leno on loan for the rest of the season. The bid would include an obligation to buy should the Magpies manage to beat the drop in the Premier League.

𓃲Interestingly, Leno has told Arteta that he would like to leave. However, Arsenal have concerns about losing the 29-year-old in this window.

Arsenal should keep Leno unless Newcastle make ridiculous offer

🌳Ramsdale has proved to be a real upgrade this season. However, few Premier League sides have a backup goalkeeper as good as Leno. Arteta has previously labelled him β€˜β€˜.

ΰ΅²Losing him in this window in a loan deal arguably makes little sense. Arteta would then have to use some of his budget on finding a replacement with no money immediately coming in.

🌊Obviously, the situation could change if Newcastle make a ridiculous offer. And Arsenal will be wary of keeping Leno if he is desperate to go at any point.

πŸ§”But as things stand, Arsenal should surely look to keep Leno for the rest of the season rather than let him leave.
