Arsenal are closing in on a deal to sign Gabriel Jesus, that talks over a move have moved a step closer and the Gunners are in pole position to sign the Manchester City star.
Jesus has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates for a little while. Of course, Arsenal need to sign at least one new striker during the summer transfer window.
Reports had previously claimed that the Gunners had all but agreed personal terms with Jesus. And obviously, the announcement that Manchester City have signed Erling Haaland would have left some expecting Arsenal to accelerate their pursuit of the 25-year-old.
It does indeed appear that Arsenal have made progress. that Arsenal have moved closer to reaching agreements over the wages, transfer fee and contract length.
It is suggested that Jesus is set to agree a five-year deal with Mikel Arteta’s men. Meanwhile, Arsenal are ready to pay at least £43 million for the forward, while City ideally want £51.5 million.

They need to sign a striker. And Jesus would clearly relish the opportunity to be the main man.

Much may depend on whether Arsenal qualify for the Champions League. But they remain on pole position for that fourth spot. So they will be confident that they will get a deal across the line.
It seems that more needs to be done. But clearly, a lot of progress has now been made.
