Report: AC Milan reject chance to sign Liverpool playmaker Adam Lallana

that AC Milan have turned down the chance to sign Adam Lallana on a free transfer from Liverpool this summer – as they have doubts over his top-tier quality.

Lallana, 31, is set to leave Anfield at the end of the season when his contract expires. The former Southampton star and England international has played 22 times for Liverpool this season in all competitions.

The 34-time England ace has been linked with the likes of Leicester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal in recent weeks as his contract begins to enter the final three months at Anfield. He has been at Liverpool since his £25million () move in 2014.

The report claims Lallana has been offered to Milan ahead of the summer window, as well as a number of other Serie A sides – as has Mario Gotze. But Milan have doubts that Lallana is good enough to represent Milan, and have rejected the chance.

TBR’s view – Lallana easily good enough for Milan

Indeed, Lallana is good enough to act as cover for the current Champions League winners and Premier League elect. He would be a decent addition for any Premier League team over the next few months.

Even more so, he would be an excellent signing for Serie A clubs – as he begins to enter the twilight stages of his career. Milan, who currently sit in seventh place in Serie A, need a spark from somewhere and Lallana would be a top addition.
