Celtic could face an uphill battle to keep hold of Kristoffer Ajer, with AC Milan apparently making the defender one of their top summer targets.
The Bhoys star seems to be a man in-demand this summer after a fine season in Scotland. The likes of Real Madrid have been credited with an interest, while Leicester City have also been touted as a potential destination.

However, , it is AC Milan who will go all out to sign the Celtic star this summer.
Milan are reportedly keen on bringing in a long-term partner for their first-choice central defender, Alessio Romagnoli.
Ajer, who has been more or less an ever-present for Celtic this season, would seemingly fit the bill nicely.
Having played in midfielder previously, the Norwegian is comfortable on the ball. That is something that will have caught Milan’s eye, as well as his defensive qualities.

Celtic, then, face a big fight on their hands to keep Ajer as more and more clubs register their interest.

The size of the clubs now showing interest in Ajer makes it seem impossible for Celtic to keep hold of their top star.
That’s not to say Celtic aren’t a huge club. They are. But the fact remains that, financially, the Bhoys will struggle to compete with the likes of Milan and Madrid.
Add in the fact that Ajer might be tempted by a move to one of the world’s biggest footballing names and suddenly Celtic look like they’re fighting a losing battle.
They’ll do all they can to keep him. But in the long-term, it’s a safe bet to assume Ajer will move on eventually.
