Report: £140k-a-week Arsenal star tops January list for AC Milan
According to reports from Italy, AC Milan want to sign Nicolas Pepe from Arsenal and could be prepared to pay the £25m asking-price the Gunners have set.
That’s according to , who claim that Milan see Pepe as the perfect January signing. The report describes the £25m asking price as ‘paltry’, suggesting the Italian side see it as a bargain buy.
It is claimed that Stefano Pioli is a big admirer of Pepe and sees him as someone who can instantly improve his AC Milan side. Arsenal, it is thought, are open to letting the Ivorian go for the right money.

Pepe has flattered to deceive since for more than £70m. The winger is also one of the Gunners’ highest earners on a £140k-a-week.
Arsenal are currently in fine form. However, Pepe hasn’t been part of that run, with Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe preferred instead.
Pepe has scored goals for Arsenal in just shy of 100 appearances. As yet, he hasn’t hit the back of the net this season, though.
TBR’s View: Arsenal to cut losses with Nicolas Pepe?
There is no doubt that this signing hasn’t gone to plan. Pepe has looked well short of being worth the money Arsenal paid. Of course, that fee isn’t his fault, but fans are entitled to expect a bit more.
Mikel Arteta is enjoying success at the moment and so far, his signings have worked out as well. If he believes selling Pepe is best for the club, then Arsenal might be best just letting it happen.
For Pepe, a fresh start could work as well. AC Milan are still a giant of Europe and he could well be a success long-term. However, he’s running out of time with Arsenal, so if this bid does come in January, then it’s one he should push to get over the line.
