Report: £20m striker thinks he’s about to leave, with West Ham and Everton pushing to sign him

Watford striker Emmanuel Dennis looks set to leave the club this summer,.

Dennis was a standout performer for Watford last season, despite the club being relegated back to the Championship after finishing second from bottom in the Premier League.

The 24-year-old only joined the London side from Club Brugge last summer but made an instant impact in England as he scored 10 goals and put up six assists.

And now the Nigerian international is reportedly available for around £20 million, with both West Ham and Everton showing interest.

The club are ready to sell the striker for a fee around £20 million and the player himself now expects to leave during the current window.

West Ham have spoken to key officials over a move for the Watford man while Everton is also a possible destination for the Watford man.

The Toffees could firm up their interest later in the window despite not making an offer yet.

The Athletic also claim that Everton and West Ham could face competition for the Nigerian as Nottingham Forest are the latest team to show interest.

Toffees boss Frank Lampard is on the lookout for a forward player after losing Richarlison to Spurs this summer and the Watford man could fit the bill perfectly.

Dennis can play off the left and as a striker, just like Richarlison. He also managed the same amount of goals last season as in the Brazilian in the Premier League last season and put up two more assists.

As for West Ham, the club have just added Gianluca Scamacca from Sassuolo so it remains to be seen if they will push for Dennis after already signing a striker.

TBR’s View: Dennis would be an excellent signing for most PL clubs

Dennis was brilliant for Watford last season and really caught the eye in a struggling Hornets side. The striker managed 16 goal involvements in the Premier League and could improve on that in a better side.

For £20 million, it could be seen as a gamble due to Dennis only having one standout season in English football. But there is no doubting the player’s quality off the back of last season and he would be a great coup for most Premier League sides.
