Reiss Nelson and Myles Lewis-Skelly react as Eddie Nketiah leaves Arsenal for Crystal Palace
Arsenal certainly said some emotional goodbyes on deadline day, as well as welcoming the likes of Raheem Sterling and Neto to north London.
Edu cancelled his travel plans to Monaco at the last minute, swapping the Champions League draw for an eventful final few hours of the window at Arsenal.
ꦕOf course, Arsenal would have finished the summer in profit, if you don’t count David Raya’s move from Brentford which feels like a signing from last season.
🐼But in terms of the money Arsenal recouped, it was a host of English talent who left north London.
All of Aaron Ramsdale, Eddie Nketiahᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ and Emile Smith Rowe departed for pastures new, three very popular faces at the club.
༺None went too far, Ramsdale’s trip down to Southampton on the south coast being the furthest.
🐲Nketiah and Smith Rowe stayed in London, with the former making a move to Crystal Palace at the last minute.

🔯Upon signing for Palace, reuniting himself with Rob Holding at the club, Nketiah took to Instagram to share a few messages with fans.
🌜Nketiah penned a message to the Arsenal fans not so long ago, and then uploaded another post celebrating his new beginnings in south London.
☂Nketiah simply wrote: “Back in South London – can’t wait to get started!”
Both Reiss Nelson and youngster Myles Lewis-Skelly♕ replied to the post, with the latter saying: “congrats my guy.”
Reiss Nelson has one last chance to make it at Arsenal
♔Of course, Nelson also secured his own move away from the club on deadline day, joining Smith Rowe at Fulham on loan.
🅘Nelson effectively paved the way for Sterling to arrive, two players with different points to prove.
♌Jamie O’Hara thinks Sterling has been treated unfairly🦄 of late, and perhaps some might say the same about Nelson.
🌃Despite regularly delivering off of the bench for Arteta, Nelson has rarely been handed the opportunity to start.
🅘Of course, Nelson has been up against very stiff competition at Arsenal, he’s never going to displace the likes of Bukayo Saka.
ꦛAnd at Fulham this season, it seems as if Nelson needs to prove he can regularly perform as a starter at this level to ensure he has a future in north London beyond next summer.
