‘Really close’: West Ham looking to complete signing of ‘incredible’ player, he’s flying to England – journalist

West Ham United have been on the lookout for a new striker this summer and they could soon get their man, with that a deal is close for Chelsea’s Armando Broja.

The Hammers have made a busy start to the window as they’ve added three players to their squad. The club have been actively looking for a striker but haven’t managed to find a breakthrough so far.

But that could be about to change as that a deal is ‘close’ for Broja. The journalist claims that talks over a permanent deal for the 20-year-old are at the final stages.

Romano says that Broja is pushing for the move and is even flying back from Chelsea’s pre-season tour of the United States to England.

The Chelsea academy product spent last season on loan at Southampton and impressed at Saint Mary’s. The Albanian managed nine goals and one assist in all competitions under Ralph Hasenhuttl.

With the deal at its final stages, the ‘incredible’ Broja will cost West Ham around £30 million and a buy-back clause is set to be discussed between the clubs.

West Ham have been searching for another striker to compete with Michail Antonio and now it seems that Moyes is close to getting his man.

On Friday, Alfredo Pedulla reported that the Hammers could finalise a deal for Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca. But it seems that Moyes has opted for the Premier League proven Broja.

The Albanian International will definitely suit Moyes’ physical style of play at West Ham and at just 20 years of age, he showed great promise last season.

TBR’s View: West Ham fans should be excited about Broja

If everything goes to plan and Moyes lands Broja, West Ham fans should be excited about this deal. The striker was brilliant for Southampton last season and was a real nuisance for opposition teams, due to his physicality and endless running.

He’ll also provide well-needed competition for Antonio and the Hammers lacked an alternative for the Jamaican last season. Jarrod Bowen often had to fill in up front and while he did a good job, they lacked the physical presence Antonio brings up the top of the pitch.
