Pundit spotted Tottenham do something ‘bizarre’ during 2-1 defeat against Wolves
Ashley Williams spotted Tottenham do something “bizarre” during today’s 2-1 defeat to Wolves.
The 39-year-old made the comments when covering the Premier League clash on BBC Sport’s Final Score.
So, what did Ashley Williams notice Tottenham do? Let’s take a look…
Ashley Williams stunned by Tottenham defensive setup
Well, the man from Wolverhampton could not believe his eyes as Joao Gomes put Wolves 1-0 up in north London earlier today, as he was left baffled by Tottenham’s defensive shape.
Williams : “You won’t see an easier goal, Joao Gomes starts on the penalty step unmarked and heads it straight into the Spurs goal – bizarre defensive setup from Tottenham.”

It was poor defending – of course – although we would not go as far as saying it was a “bizarre” moment.
Pape Matar Sarr, Richarlison and Emerson Royal simply do not communicate with each other as Gomes is allowed to sneak in between the three of them and nod beyond Guglielmo Vicario.
It was very static defending from Spurs – with nobody taking control of the situation whatsoever.
Ange Postecoglou has work to do at Hotspur Way
Ange Postecoglou has done a tremendous job when it comes to implementing his slick style of play at Tottenham.
Now – however – there are some creases to iron out, with set pieces becoming a real issue.
Manchester City knocked Spurs out of the FA Cup thanks to a late set piece goal from Nathan Ake, before Everton came from behind to snatch a 2-2 draw after causing Vicario problems from high balls.

After conceding from another set piece today against Wolves, Postecoglou is surely scratching his head in regards to how he can solve this particular issue.
Don Hutchinson believes opponents are actually targeting Vicario because of his height.
Hopefully, the Australian can think of a solution with his coaching team – Spurs play some fantastic football, and it would be a real shame if this problem continues to cost them points.
