Premier League centre-back claims he’s faster than Tottenham’s Micky van de Ven and would beat him in a sprint

Micky van de Ven has made a name for himself at Tottenham as one of the fastest players in the Premier League.

🌊However, there is now a challenger to Van de Ven’s crown as the Premier League’s fastest defender.

Indeed, speaking on Hawksbee and Jacobs Daily, Crystal Palace’s Maxence Lacroix🍎 has made a remarkable claim that he’s actually faster than Van de Ven.

Maxence Lacroix says he’s faster than Micky van de Ven

Lacroix was asked about his former teammate.

🍒Lacroix and Van de Ven played together at Wolfsburg, and the Frenchman reckons he’s actually quicker than the Dutchman over 100 meters.

𝓀“Yeah, I played with them, and I’m really happy to see them in the top level in Premier League. I think they deserve it. Micky is a really good talent and player,” Lacroix said.

🃏“And did you beat Mickey van de Ven in a race when you were just 100 metres?” The defender was asked.

🍬“100 metres! It’s a long race, but he’s quick, but I think against him, I can beat him.

🅺“Oh, wow. OK, that’ll get back to the Spurs training ground,” The host said.

Maxence Lacroix top speed compared to Micky van de Ven

⛄Lacroix and Van de Ven are undoubtedly two of the fastest defenders in the game today, but, the. Numbers suggest that the Tottenham man is quicker.

♌Indeed, Van de Ven clocked a remarkable top speed last season, and while Lacroix was the fourth-fastest player in the Bundesliga last term, he’s not quite as quick as Van de Ven.

൩The scary thing is that Lacroix and Van de Ven were once a defensive partnership. Imagine coming up against two centre-backs who are almost Olympic-level sprinters, you’d have next to no chance.

൩Van de Ven has been injured at Tottenham recently with a hamstring problem, and Spurs fans will be hoping that the Dutchman will be just as speedy upon his return.
