Player Tottenham let go for free scores just 50 seconds into his first start for his new club
Tottenham have a knack of letting players go only for them to kick on again and have a career second-wind.
Eric Dier has been back to his best at Bayern Munich over the past 12 months, Ivan Perisic broke a Champions League record last week, while Giovani Lo Celso has done well at Real Betis this season.
Spurs let another high-profile player leave in the summer as Ryan Sessegnon departed on a free transfer.
Sessegnon didn’t have the easiest of times at Spurs.
The left-back had tons of injuries at Tottenham, while Sessegnon barely spoke to Mauricio Pochettino after signing for Spurs.
The 24-year-old re-joined Fulham in the summer on a free transfer, and he’s had to wait for his opportunity at Craven Cottage.
Indeed, Antonee Robinson’s continued brilliance at left-back has meant that Sessegnon has largely been confined to the bench, but against Wolves on Tuesday, Sessegnon got his first league start for Fulham since re-joining the club, and he made an immediate impact.

Ryan Sessegnon scores after 50 seconds on Fulham full re-debut
Sessegnon got his first league start of the season for Fulham on Tuesday, and he wasted no time in taking this opportunity.
The former Spurs star was actually being used as a wing-back in a back five, similarly to how he played under Antonio Conte at Tottenham.
Sessegnon enjoyed his time under Conte, and that role clearly suits him as he made an immediate impact against Wolves, scoring after just 50 seconds of play.
It’s been a tough few years for the defender, but he’s now seemingly back on the right track.
Ryan Sessegnon stats vs Wolves
Sessegnon got his first league start for Fulham here, and it’s fair to say he impressed.
Of course, his early goal was a quick shot in the arm, but his all-round performance on the day was solid as well.
Indeed, Sessegnon didn’t misplace a single pass against Wolves, while he made a string of tackles and he also had another shot on target on top of his goal.

This was a very promising performance from Sessegnon, and who knows? Perhaps he can rediscover his spark at Fulham.
Fulham do have a bit of an injury crisis on the wings right now with Reiss Nelson and Harry Wilson both out of action, and while Sessegnon has played as a left-back a lot in recent years, he was at his best for Fulham on the wing first time around, so perhaps a few more first-team opportunities could arise in the near future.
Sessegnon is on his way to rebuilding his career after a difficult time at Tottenham.
