Phil Jagielka suggests he’s on Liverpool’s side over something that happened at Everton

Everton struck late on to salvage a 2-2 draw with Liverpool in a dramatic final Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.

Beto opened the scoring for David Moyes’ side after just 11 minutes, only for Alexis Mac Allister to draw Liverpool level five minutes later.

Mohamed Salah then struck for the Reds midway through the second half, and it look꧋ed as though the visi𓆉tors were set for victory.

However, Everton had other ideas and, in the eighth minute of injury time, James Tarkowski lashed in a sup💃erb🍸 volley for a share of the spoils.

There was further drama late as Arne Slot, ဣhis assistant, andꦇ two players – one on each side – were sent off after the final whistle.

Everton cult hero Phil Jagielka spoke about the fracas at🎃 the end of the gꦇame and suggested that he was actually on Slot’s side.

Phil Jagielka sympathises with Arne Slot after Everton equaliser v Liverpool

Jagielka suggested that it was plain to see why Slot was furious at the end of the match.

The Liverpool boss had taken exception to a coming together between Beto and Ibrahima Konate in the buil🌼d-up to Eve🧔rton’s equaliser.

Kon❀ate was in mid-air when Beto appeared to push h🌳im, which enabled the ball to bounce and ultimately find its way to Tarkowski for the goal.

“You can see why Arne 💙Slot was f🌄urious,” Jagielka said on .

“There was a slight little nudge in t🌺he box and if that was my team I would be appealing. I would be gett༒ing sent off after the game too.

“Slot always talks about stℱaying composed but it seems like he lost a bit of his composure at the end there. That’s what a der🔜by does to you.”

Why Curtis Jones and Abdoulaye Doucoure were also sent off

Slot and assistant Sipke Hulshoff were not the only indiv🅘iduals who w෴ere sent off after the game.

Abdoulaye Doucoure and Curtis Jones were also diಞsmissed, although neither player was shown a straight red, rather a second yellow.

Doucoure celebrꦐated in front of the Liverpool fans after Everton’s equaliser, and Jones took exception to this.

The Liverpool midfielder 📖ran over and pushed the Everton man away from the away end, leading to both teams clashing🌳.

Both Jones and Doucoure had been booked during the game and, after calm was restored, referee Michael Oliver showed them a second ye🉐🤡llow card.

“They are entitled to celebrate the goal,” Liverpool captain Virgil vaꦚn Dijk said after🔯 the match.

“B✃ut Doucoure wanted to provoke our fans and Curtis thought that wasn’t the right thing to do. Then the🐻re was a tussle.

“The referee didn’t have the game under control, I said that to him. It is a factor. Both tea✅ms had to deal with it.”
