Paul Robinson names the Manchester United player who was really bad vs Nottingham Forest

Paul Robinson has given his verdict on the performance of Manchester United winger Antony against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.

ܫThe former Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper was not impressed at all by what he saw from the 23-year-old Brazil international winger on Saturday evening.

So, what has Paul Robinson said about Antony? Let’s take a look.

Criticism of Manchester United winger Antony vs Nottingham Forest

Well, Manchester United suffered a defeat at the hands of Nottingham Forestཧ away from home at the City Ground in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

I think that Forest were the better side in the match and deservedly picked up all three points, although Matt Turner’s mistake♎ for the goal that the Reds conceded could have proved costly for Nuno’s team.

𝓰Antony started the match for Erik ten Hag’s side. The 23-year-old Brazil international winger was deployed on the right of an attacking midfield-three in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

The 23-year-old was taken off in the 54th minute. Antony failed to score or provide an assist. The youngster has not scored or given an assist in the Premier League or the UEFA Champions League this season and has been branded as “useless” by a pundit.

🦩Paul Robinson was following the match for BBC Sport, and the former Tottenham Hotspur and England international goalkeeper was disappointed by the display produced by Antony.

𝓰Robinson told about Antony: “It’s another game without a goal or an assist or a contribution for Antony. His touches must be minimal.

🅷“It’s tough because he doesn’t set the fee they paid for him but the minimum you expect from a player is maximum effort. And you don’t want to question a player’s effort.”

My View: Manchester United have to consider Antony’s future

꧒In my opinion, Manchester United have to take a look at what they do with Antony at the end of the season.

𝓰I understand that Antony is just 23 now and is a very young player. And I know that United paid in transfer fees for him.

🥃But, he is in his second season at United now, and I do not think that there are any signs that he is improving or getting better.

𝔍Antony scored four goals and gave two assists in 23 Premier League starts last season. The winger scored two goals in nine UEFA Europa League games in the last campaign.

🐟The Brazil international has failed to kick on. I think that United have to consider selling Antony in the summer of 2024 if he fails to step up his game in the coming weeks and months.
