Liverpool told whether Mo Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold will actually sign new contracts

As things stand, Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold will become free agents in the summer.

However, there are still plenty of months left for Liverpool to tie arguably their three best outfield player🐠s down to new contracts.

As the Reds trio’s future remains uncertain꧂, plans are being made by other clubs to prise them away from Anfield.

The Saudi Pro League aim to snap Salah up by maki🎃ng him the highest-paid player in the world alongside Cristiano Ronaldo while offering him an ownership stake in the club that he wishes to sign for.

Meanwhile, Alexander-Arnold is ready to sign for Real Madrid and communicate his decision to Liverpool.

Paul Merson thinks Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold won’t sign new contracts

Paul Merson had his say and confidently claimed that neither of Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold will extend their contracts at Liverpool.

Especially if Li💮verpool win the Premier League at the end of the season and Salah, Van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold get t🏅o lift the coveted trophy in front of their supporters — unlike in 2020 when crowds were affected the pandemic — Merson reckons all three players will bid farewell to Merseyside.

Paul Merson said on Sky Sports News: “When Liverpool won the league in COVID, it wasn’t the same, you watch them lift the trophy, the Kop wasn’t there,🃏 the fans, they had🌊n’t won it for a long time. If they go and win it this time in front of their fans, I just think [Salah], Trent [Alexander-Arnold] and [Virgil] Van Dijk, they’ve won the Champions League, they’ve won the Premier League in front of the fans which will be a lot different, believe me, I don’t see them signing.”

“Call me a cynic, listen, we’re talking 18 months now, whatever that may be because they’ll get a pay rise when they sign, that won’t be the same, that won’t be 50 grand a week. 50 gran🐼d a week over 18 months is a lot of money. For me, I’m not sure ꧙they sign if they win the Premier League.”

Liverpool criticised for not extending Salah, Van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold contracts

Previously, Paul Merson was critical of the Liverpool board for not extending the contracts of Salah, Van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold — three players wh🎶o Arne Slot has relied on massively this season.

Merson claimed: “I think all three of Trent, Van Dijk and 🍎Salah have been an absolute credit if I’m being honest.
I think for them to have their contracts whittled down to six months left, how that ever happens in football, it’s criminal.”

“To have three of your best players’ contracts all end in six months is just it’s🦂 unheard of, really. I can’t remember anywhere else where yᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚou’ve had three top, top, top players having their contracts run out.”

Paul Merson adဣded: “If they could keep two of the three, they’ve had the biggest result ever. I thought they’d lose all three of them. If Trent goes but they can keep Van Dijk and Salah, I think they’ve h🍸ad the biggest result ever.

“But for Liverpool to fin🥀d themselves in that position, as I say, in foo💯tball, it’s criminal.”

As Merson states, Salah, Van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold could lift the title this season. However👍, the trident could also l☂ift the Carabao Cup, as they face Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday night while also fighting for the Champions League and the FA Cup — and perhaps all three could be set to leave Liverpool on a high note.
