Patrice Evra praises Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson after draw

Patrice Evra that he was impressed by Jordan Henderson’s comments following Liverpool’s draw with Fulham on Sunday, which saw the Reds captain insist that they cannot use tiredness as an excuse for their performance.

Jurgen Klopp൩’♐s men missed the chance to go top of the Premier League at Craven Cottage. They were punished for a lacklustre start and went behind after 25 minutes.

Liverpool did respond however, and they got an equaliser through a late penalty. The visit♍ors seemed to make ܫa significant improvement as the game went on.

The result came just a few days after their final Champ💮ions League group-stage clash. But Henderson told Sky Sports (broadcast on 13/12; 18:40) that the💟y could not blame the result on the schedule or the number of injuries they have suffered.

And Evra went 𓆏on to praise the midജfielder for not looking for an easy way out in explaining why Liverpool did struggle against Scott Parker’s side.

“When you are a big club such as Liverpool and you prepare for the season, you expect some injuries,” . “And of course, sometimes⛎ you have some major inj👍uries, like Virgil. But you need to deal with that. That’s what I liked about the captain of Liverpool.

“He said being tired is not an excuse, and when you play for a big club like t🌺hat, you can’t have th🐻ose kind of excuses.”

TBR View: Liverpool entitled to have off day

Liverpool have certainly had to deal with a number of significant setbacks this season. As Evra notes, they have lost Virgil van Dijk to a꧋ long-term injury. And he is not the only one by any means.

It is admirable that Henderson does not want to make excuses. But꧅ it is surely also fair to say that Liverpool have earned the right to occasionally have an off day. It has been an incredible couple of years for Klopp’s men, and they cannot be at their best every single time they play.

They responded to their recent defeat to Atalanta and dra💧w with Brighton with victories over Ajax and Wolves. So there is every reason to believe that the Reds will not need long to put any disappointment about Sunday’s result behind them.
