Pat Nevin baffled by Arne Slot decision in Liverpool draw at Newcastle

Liverpool dropped points in Wednesday’s Premier League encounter with Newcastle United as they played out a dramatic 3-3 draw at St James’ Park.

Arne Slot’s Reds twice came from behind before taking the lead late on, only for 𓂃a late Fabian Schar strike to break the travelling supporters’ hear🥃ts.

Liverpool trailed to Alexander Isak’s 35th-minute strike as the Swede got half a yard on Virgil van Dijk and fired home in the Premier League clash on Tyneside.

However, the Reds equalised in the 51st minute as Mohamed Salah got the first of his goal contributཧions, setting up Curtis J🐻ones to fire into the roof of the Magpies net.

Newcastle retook the lead on 63 minutes, with the imp🍸ressive Isak setting up Anthony Gordon to poke a low finish past Caoimhin Kelleher.

Liverpool drew level once again in the 68th minute as substitute Trent Alexander-Arnold’s superb delivery found Salah for an eight-yarꦯd finish.

It looked as though the Egypt international had salvaged a win for Liverpool on 83 minute📖s with a fierce strike into the far corner of Newcastle’s net.

However, Kelleher꧅’s late decision to leave a ball to trickle out for a goal kick came back to haunt him as Fabian Schar struck from an incredibly tight angle.

During the game, BBC Sport pundit Pat Nevin questioned a decision made by Slot in the game.
