Pat Bonner says £3.5m Celtic summer signing is just as good as Sead Haksabanovic
With Celtic looking to add quality to the team in this coming January window, it seems that they will not have to worry about one position of the team.
That’s according to former Celtic hero, Pat Bonner. The legendary keeper was asked his thoughts on Honduran winger, Luis Palma when Bonner compared him to the out-on-loan Montenegro winger, Sead Haksabanovic.
Bonner said [], “I think I put him in the category of Haksabanovic, that type of player who could come off the bench and make a ജreal impact for that period.
“But he’s definitely not a Jota or one of the great wingers that we’ve seen 💯at Celtic over the years.
“But a decent, effective player.”
Luis Palma is already a far better Celtic player than Sead Haksabanovic
The Honduran recently just joined Celtic in a £3.5m summer move from Aris. In just 20 games, Palma has scored seven goals, which includes two in the Champions League, and created nine assists. []
Not bad for a player who was being touted for just over £200k three seasons ago. He has also been very consistent domestically this season with brilliant performances against Aberdeen, Ross County and Hearts.

Compare that to Haksabanovic and you will see the difference is starrk. In🍎 42 appearances in the green and white Hoops, the 24-y💙ear-old managed to score just five goals and create four assists. []
Not that impressive when it took Palma less than half those appearances to outscore Haksa. Now you might ask how that converts to minut𓆏es on the pitch.
Palma was played 1,222 minutes for Celtic whilst Haksabanovic has 1,358 min🌞utes under his belt. Pound for pound, the Honduran is already better value for money than the Montenegrin and it looks like he is just going to keep getting better and better.
