Pat Bonner names three Celtic players who simply weren’t good enough vs Kilmarnock

Pat Bonner has weighed into the Celtic players after their lacklustre display against Kilmarnock blew the title race wide open.

The former Celtic hero pulled no punches as he aimed both barrels at Brendan Rodgers’ side and named three plaꦿyers he thought simply didn’t turn up against the Ayrshire side.

Bonner said [], “Celtic looked really uncomfortable and they just couldn’t pass through the midfield. Even getting the ball wider a𝓰t t♊imes they just couldn’t get a hold of it.

“Young Mikey Johnston kept running towards the ba꧂ll. He was outmuscled and that then s🎐topped Celtic from from getting a hold of the ball.

“Palma didn’t really contribute in the second half. [Hyeongyu] Oh was always on the halfway line and he had a couple of good moments where he held the ball up and he turned and he played in Matt O’Riley but it was all too few from that perspective.”

If anything, the whole team barring Calඣlum McGregor and Matt O’Riley were simply not at the races.

As Chris Sutton pointed out yesterday, Celtic where outfought and outrun and when they 🦹needed players to did deep they simply were not there.

For the second game in a row, Johnston 🦩was found wanting. Surely his place in the team is under threat now?

Luis Palma didn’t really offer what he normally does off the right flank. Even his wand of a rꦐight boot couldn’t conjure up anything to dig Celtic out of a hole against Kilmarnock.

Heyongyu Oh looked lively in the first half and made some decent runs but he was fairly anonymous in t🍒💜he second half.

A massive improvement is required by this Celtic team if they are to keep ahead of Rangers before t🐈he Glasgow Derby at the end of the month.

The only problem is, who at Celtic is able to dragꦗ them out of this apparent slump because as I look at that matchday squad bench yesterday, there isn’t one that I would call a match-winner or has the ability to open up defences like Liel Abada or Daizen Maeda. And that’s a worry for the Celtic fans.
