‘Outstanding’…Ange Postecoglou says £43m Tottenham player has ‘no ceiling’ after seeing him v Palace today

Tottenham’s good season continued in earnest as they came from behind to see off a plucky Crystal Palace side this afternoon.

Ange Postecoglou once again needed his team to come from being a goal down to win, and they duly obliged through Timo Werner, Cristian Romero and Heung-Min Son.

The threeꦗ goals were just about what Tottenham deserved but just as important was keeping the away side out at the other end as well.

The defensive duo of Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero did their jobs wel🥂l against a physical Palace side. And speaking to the official Spurs media after the game, Po❀stecoglou admitted that Van de Ven is a player they consider to have limitless potential.

“Micky’s been outstanding♉ all year. He’s growing all the time. We see it in training, the growth in him, his maturity, his ability, his physical capacity, there’s no ceiling for that guy. He was so important today, we didn’t have to defend deep and it kind of suits him and I thought he was really important,” ✱Postecoglou .

Spurs paid to bring Van de Ven to the club in the summer and he’s looked ever꧟y bit worth that mone🅰y over the course of the season.

One of the best signings of 2023

Tottenham have made some smart signings since Ange took over but the impact ꦉof Micky van de Ven has been massive on the entire team.

The speed he has allow🐬s Ange to deploy the high line that he loves so much and allows Spurs to be riౠght on the front foot in most games.

Van de Ven’s pace allows him to ꦍbail the team out quite a bit and there’s a big trust from the players in and around him that if their attacking play does break down, they can rely on the Dutchman to mop up.

Postecoglou is obviously delighted with his defender and the good thing for Tottenham, as Ange says, is 🐽there’s even more to come.
