Nuno Espirito Santo now makes claim about Tottenham after being appointed Nottingham Forest manager
Nuno Espirito Santo has made a claim about Tottenham Hotspur after being named as Nottingham Forest’s new manager.
The Portuguese boss completed a surprise return to the Premier League on Wednesday, just over two years after he was sacked by Tottenham.
It’s fair to say that Nuno Espirito Santo’s time in North London didn’t exactly go according to plan.
Espirito Santo was brought in by Spurs in the summer of 2021 after an exhaustive search for Jose Mourinho’s successor.

The former Wolves boss lasted just four months in the Spurs dugout and was dismissed following a 3-0 defeat to Manchester United in November that year.
Now, Nuno has reflected on his spells at Wolves and Tottenham, claiming you simply can’t compare the two.

When asked about his spell at Tottenham, Nuno admitted he has no regrets over his tenure.
“No, no regrets, it happened,” he said. “It was a pleasure to be at Spurs, things didn’t go well so we move forwards, but no regrets.
“Things didn’t work out for many situations there. I was honoured to have the chance to manage at Spurs, maybe it wasn’t the right moment for me to go there.
“Do I have a point to prove? In football, we have to prove ourselves every day, as coaches, managers and players.
“There is constant pressure to improve. We cannot compare what we did with Wolves and what happened at Tottenham.
“The way we played in Wolves, we didn’t do the same with Tottenham. Now is a new chapter. Forest is nothing to do with Wolves or Spurs.”

Nuno enjoyed a brilliant spell at Wolves as he guided them up to the Premier League before delivering European football.
He wasn’t exactly the favoured candidate for the Spurs role though and the odds were stacked against him before Tottenham even kicked a ball in his tenure.
Nevertheless, he started exceptionally well as he delivered three wins in his opening three games in the league, scooping the Manager of the Month award in the process.
But things quickly unravelled thereafter and defeats to Chelsea, Arsenal and Man United spelled the end of his time in North London.
