‘Nothing in it’: Neil Lennon rules out Celtic switch for Andraz Sporar

ﷺCeltic manager Neil Lennon has dismissed links with Andraz Sporar, .

🌳Lennon has ruled out a move for Sporar, rubbishing the transfer rumours by saying there’s “nothing in it”. Celtic might look at new signings in January but Sporar is unlikely to feature on the wishlist.

꧅Sporar was recently linked with a January move from Slovan Bratislava to Celtic. , the £5m-rated striker was a potential target to provide cover for Odsonne Edouard.

ꦛThe 25-year-old has been in prolific form for Slovan Bratislava since his 2018 move. With 60 goals and 17 assists in 78 games, Sporar is a constant goal threat. This season, he has netted 20 times in 26 outings.

🐲Sporar has spent time in Slovenia, Switzerland, Germany and Slovakia during his career. But it does not look like he will be moving to Scotland for his next career move. The Slovenia international is not someone who Lennon has his eye on.

TBR’s view

▨Sporar’s goal record cannot be ignored and he is clearly a talented striker. He is also at the right age to spend his prime years with Celtic.

𝓡However, given his £5m price tag and the fact that he would only be a back-up striker, this doesn’t make sense. When the first report emerged, it seemed a strange one. Lennon has now ended this piece of speculation.
