Steve Nicol says Liverpool have a player on their hands who is ‘not happy’ under Arne Slot
Liverpool got their season off to a winning start at Ipswich but there are some interesting sub-plots emerging from the game as well.
The Reds took the three points thanks to goals fr🗹om Diogo Jota and Mo Salah as Arne Slot got the ideal start to life succeeding Jurgen Klopp.
Slot opted to go with the three of Diaz, Salah and Jota up top and in the end, the trio stepped it up a gear 🅰to help Liverpool over the line at Portman R෴oad.
However, ofꩵf the bench, it was only Cody Gakpo w🦩ho was given a chance in terms of the attacking players involved.
That, of course, meant zero minutes for Darwin Nunez. The big number nine has been 𒉰li🗹nked with a move away from Liverpool this summer.
And according to Steve Nicol, N♏unez could🦹 end up being a bit of a problem if he keeps not playing.

Steve Nicol claims Darwin Nunez will be unhappy at Liverpool soon
꧑Speaking on about Nunez not getting a sniff, Nicol suggested the Uruguayan is going to end ꦇup being unhappy.
“Not g🌼ood for Darwin Nunez, not good that Jota scores. If you are Darwin Nunez, you are wondering how do you get a start,” Nicol said.
“If Jota keeps scoring goals and Darwin Nunez will not star🌄t, it’s beginning to feel like he’s not happy sitting on the bench.
“It’s sort of a carry-on from last year where he pretty much disappeared from the🌺 team, and it kind of smells a little bit like that.”
Jota is the better finisher
At the end of the day, Arne Slot can only pick three in his attack and with Mo Salah guaranteed to play every week, t🐻hat leaves two slots open.
The reality for Darwin Nunez is that out on the left, Luis Diaz iﷺs nearly always going to be the man.
While centrally, Diogo Jota’s goalscℱoring r💃ecord and ability to take his chances is better than what Nunez brings to the table.
We all saw throughout last season that Nunez misses chances in every game. And right now, it looks like that h🧸abit has cost him.
For now, it looks like he’s simply going to have to get used to playing secܫꦫond fiddle and then do his bit as and when he’s asked.
