Non-league side unveil Joy Mukena after Sunderland trial period

ജJoy Mukena has left Sunderland after a trial period and signed for a non-league team.

ο·½Sunderland had been looking at Mukena on trial before deciding not to pursue this deal. Mukena was at Watford last season but he was released by the Premier League club in the summer.

🐎Formerly of Tottenham Hotspur, Mukena joined Watford in 2017. The tall centre-back signed professional terms with the Hornets but he never made his first-team debut. He was named on the bench once – in February 2018 – but did not come on.

ΰ·΄Sunderland invited the 20-year-old for a trial recently. , Mukena joined on trial in November and played in U23 matches against Spennymoor Town and Stoke City U23s.

πŸ’ŽMukena is only 20 and he still has time to get back to the top in his career. But Sunderland will not feel like they have missed out on a big opportunity just yet.

πŸ’§Bracknell play in the eighth tier of the English pyramid – five levels below Sunderland. Unless he has a Jamie Vardy-style rise, it looks like a sensible decision was made.
