‘Need to start him’… Peter Grant urges Brendan Rodgers to start ‘dangerous’ 26-year-old for Celtic vs Hibs

Celtic’s trip to Hibs tonight really is one of these games that will make or break the rest of the season. Anything less than taking three points back to Glasgow is unthinkable at this stage.

Lose or draw and Rangers go top if they win their game in hand against Ross County next week. This is literally a musꦇt♚-win game.

But to be fair to Brendan Rodgers, the Celtic manager has had to negotiate some difficult fixtures with the likes of Cameron Carter-Vickers, Daizen Maeda, Greg Taylor and Reo Hatate due to injury and international call-ups.

However, the results must improve and that must start tonight. And to do that, Peter Grant has told Rodgers that he꧋ must start Maeda now that the Japanese interܫnational has returned from the Asia Cup.

Grant said [], “I look at Maeda,🌃 and I listen to Brendan saying he’s in a much better place.

“I thought that in🔴 the last couple of gam♋es, he looked well off it. But I still think it’s a game you need to start him.

“You 𒈔need t🌼hat energy, whether you take him off that’s fine but I think you need that energy.”

The Celtic manager confirmed yesterday that Maeda is fit and healthy so I would expecཧt him to be in contention for tonight’s game.

In fact, I have Maeda starting tonight and Palma dropped to the bench in my predicted starting XI as I feel Maeda’s engine🤪 will be crucial in temporarily fixing the weakness in Celtic’s left flank.

The Japanese international offers so much in attack and defence Rodgers must make sure that he is in the starting lineup because as history has shown, the Celtic✃ manager’s record at Easter Road is poor and Maeda could be the difference between taking one point or three points tonight.
