Multiple Championship clubs are trying to sign ‘brilliant’ Tottenham attacker on loan

Last season under Ange Postecoglou, Tottenham Hotspur were very keen to utilise the loan market for a number of reasons.

First off all, Tottenham sought the opportunity to send players like Sergio Reguilon out on loan to protect their value, players who weren’t going to play but could be sold in a year’s time.

It was the same with Joe Rodon who has joined Leeds United, and perhaps Djed Spence could also now seek a permanent departure having spent time at Genoa in Italy.

Postecoglou will give Spence one more chance at Tottenham in the pre-season tour of Asia, but it seems feasible that the youngster could still depart.

And then there were those who the club simply sought to relieve from their wage bill for the final year of their contract: Ivan Perisic, Japhet Tanganga and Tanguy Ndombele.

But Spurs also had some more exciting excursions for their fans to follow, many of which were taking place at Plymouth Argyle.

Both Ashley Phillips and Alfie Devine have now returned from the Championship side, better ready for Tottenham’s first team.

Tottenham youngster Will Lankshear has plenty of Championship interest

Having been awarded the coveted Premier League 2 POTS award last campaign, 19-year-old Will Lankshear looks to have a big future ahead.

The England under-19 international scored 25 goals in 26 games for Wayne Burnett’s side last season, an incredible return.

And via a report by , the youngster may be poised to leave Spurs on loan this season to try his hand, or even right-foot, in senior football.

According to the report, Lankshear has received interest from both Championship and League One clubs.

It seems fairly clear that the goal-scorer has outgrown youth football and now it will be up to Tottenham’s coaching staff to decide what is the best next step.

It could prove much more beneficial for Lankshear to go and play a crucial role for a senior side rather than playing five minutes here and there for Tottenham, like Alejo Veliz did in the first six months of last season.

Perhaps that was an adaptation period for Veliz, but homegrown Lankshear doesn’t need that time.

In recent years, the winners for the Premier League 2 POTS award have gone on to show great potential, the likes of Curtis Jones, Liam Delap and James McAtee.

And Lankshear is in that talented category, a ‘brilliant’ striker who Tottenham need to devise a plan for.
