Michael Owen shares if Arsenal can actually still win the Premier League title after Liverpool beat Newcastle

After Arsenal drew 0-0 against Nottingham Forest, their chances of winning the Premier League title were further dented as Liverpool beat Newcastle United 2-0 on Wednesday night as well.

Unlike Arne Slot’s side, who did not even need Mohamed Salah to score to get over the line against Newcastle, Arsenal lacked any ideas in๊ attacking areas against Forest and were held to a goalless draw.

After both teams’ fixtures, Arsenal are now sitting 13 points behind Liverpool in the league table, albeit having played one less game — with just 11 fixtures left for the Gunn🍌ers to bridge the gap.

Jamie Carragher thinks Arsenaﷺl 💛have peaked under Arteta and perhaps🏅 many other might feel the same way as it looks like aꦗnother season is set to end up with them failing to win the title.

Michael Owen says Arsenal’s Premier League titles hopes are “over”

As the Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta will be hurt when sucဣh op♔inions are expressed about his side.

But ultimately,ꦏ it is extremely concerning that season after season, the North Londoners seem not to be able to get oไver the line despite having quite an experienced team.

In Arsenal’s defe🌳nce, some of their best players such as Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard have missed significant chunks of the season unlike in Liverpool’s case, with Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah in particular being fit throughout the campaign and steering them towards potential domestic glory.

But the fact of the matter is the Reds now have a sizable lead over the Gunners and look favourites to be🐈come Premier League champions.

However, the question is whether Arsenal still have any hope of winning the lea🍸gue.

According to Michael🎶 Owen, Arsenal aꦦnd Liverpool’s latest results have spelt the end of the title race as in his opinion, it is only a matter of time until Arne Slot gets his hands on the coveted crown.

Owen told : “Lot of people a week ago thought it was all over, but after tonight it is about nail in Arsenal’s coffin. Liverpool💃 just look unbeatable, especially at home – the majority of their gaဣmes are at home. Their run-in is doable, so it is pretty much over.”

Michael Owen has sympathy for Mikel Arteta due to Arsenal’s glaring lack of a striker that seems to have hurt them this campaign. But Arteta’s job at Arsenal is safe andꦉ he will not b🌳e feeling sorry for himself and fight until the end.

Mikel Arteta thinks its impressive where Arsenal are despite Liverpool leading title race

While Mikel Arteta might have to be resigned to his fat🐲e, the Spaniard’s view is that Arsenal’s season is impressive cons♎idering the red cards and injury woes that have impacted them.

Arteta said via HaytersTV: “I think we’v🍌e made big strides. Yeah, big time! Because we should be in a very different position with everything that has happe🌺ned.”

“Because there is no team in Premier League history with five red cards and the amount of injuries we’ve 🎉had that are in the position that we are today. It hasn’t been done.”
