Liverpool’s Curtis Jones hailed by Micah Richards

Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones finally made his England debut as he started for Lee Carsley’s charges in their Nations League win over Greece♐.

After failing to get on the pitꦆch when involved in two previous squads, the Anfield ace was handed his bow at the first opportunity this time round.

The Liverpool star shone as England ran out 3-0 winners in Athens, 🌳scoring a wonderful final goal of the game to wrap up the victory for the visitors.

Jones netted in the 83rd minute with a sumptuous back-heeled 𒁏flick after being set up by Morgan Gibbs-White of Nottingham Forest.

The English media was blown away by Jones’ display, while Carsley loved what he saw from the Liverpool man as well.

Richards, speaking on The Rest Is Football, joined⛦ in with the praise, saying Jones’ display was one of the best debuts he had ever seen for Englan𓂃d.

“We don’t really produce the player who can play in that pivot role. Angel Gomes played there and did very well at ಞtimes, but Curtis Jones was extraordinary,” Richards said.

“😼That’s one of the best England debuts I’ve ever seen. If you look at Curtis Jones, his body positions, he was always available for the ball every time.

“I think, him in that role, in terms of just being that person who is not afraid to just get on it, I thought it showed me his character and how fearl🍎ess he is.

“I think the confidence from Liverpool is obviously helping him but going into in🅠ternationals, he really felt like he was at home.”

Jones loving life at Liverpool

Jones is having the time of his life right now. He has become a father, he is shining for a high-flying Liverpool, and now he has 🐲dazzled for England.

Speaking ahead of the Greece game, Jones revealed how much he is loving playing under Arne Slot at Anfield.

“I feel that I’m at the point now where I’m enjꦅoying it the most that I have,” he said.

“I say that in terms of style of play that suits me and the love that💜 I’m getting from the coaches and theಞ staff all around.

“Arne and his staff have come in and the style of play and everything is changing – the way we go and press and stuff. I think it sui🎐ဣts me more.

“As a fresh start, I’ll give it everything I can. I’m really enjoying it and the most 🅘ꦿimportant thing is that I’m playing with a smile on my face.”
