Mauricio Pochettino spotted going ‘absolutely berserk’ at £39m Chelsea man vs Liverpool
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino was spotted going ‘absolutely berserk’ at defender Axel Disasi against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup Final.
The Blues were once facing off against rivals Liverpool at Wembley and had the perfect opportunity to take advantage of an injury-ravaged squad.
for BBC Sport, Alan Shearer spotted the Argentinian coach going mad at the defender.
Pochettino spotted going mad at Chelsea defender Disasi
It’s been far from a straightforward season for Mauricio Pochettino after his arrival at Stamford Bridge last year.
Chelsea have spent a huge amount of money since the takeover of Todd Boehly but it’s yet to be converted into meaningful results.
However, the Carabao Cup Final gave Pochettino and his side the chance to earn some much-needed silverware and a potential route into Europe.
They got away with one result after Virgil van Dijk’s header was ruled out for a block by Wataru Endo on Levi Colwill.
But mistakes had begun to creep in and Pochettino was unhappy with Disasi as the Chelsea man lost concentration during the second half.
He’ll be glad that his mistake didn’t end up being punished but will need to cut those sorts of mistakes out of his game going forward.

Pochettino becoming frustrated on the touchline
The 25-year-old centre-back gave the ball away to Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, but the World Cup winner’s pass couldn’t find Harvey Elliott.
Watching on, Shearer said: “Just looking at [Mauricio] Pochettino’s reaction there where Chelsea lost the ball.
“[Axel] Disasi I think it was, he lost concentration and gave it to Liverpool to hit them on the attack.
“He was going absolutely berserk on the touchline at Disasi for giving it away.”
Disasi was on the end of some criticism in the build-up to the match, but Pochettino backed the defender to start Chelsea’s biggest game of the season.
He’s been praised by teammate Reece James for his strength and had a fantastic opportunity to score at the other end, but the chance fell at just the wrong height and he couldn’t direct his effort off his thigh with any power.
Disasi and Chelsea grew into the game in the second half, but his teammates couldn’t convert any of their brilliant chances before the full-time whistle, with extra time on the horizon.
