that on-loan Celtic defender and summer signing Sh♓ane Duffy is not performing to the best of his abilities, but has backed the Ireland captain to return to his🌟 best form under Neil Lennon.
Duffy, 28, has now clocked up 10 appearances for Celtic in all compet🐼itions since the powerhouse defender joined the Scottish champioꦐns on loan from Brighton. He has scored two goals, and help Celtic keep five clean sheets in 10 games.
The central defender, though, has seen his struggling form coincide with Celtic failing to win their last t🥃hree matches. A bitterly poor performance against Rangers during a 2-0 defeat was f🅰ollowed by a 3-1 hammering from AC Milan.
Then, Celtic eve𓃲ntually failed to hold onto three points against Aberdeen at Pittodrie on Sunday – with the Dons scoring an injury-time penalty. Ex-Celtic bos🀅s O’Neill says he has not started well, but backed him to improve.

“I know Shane very well. He did wonderfully well for me with the Rep🌊ublic of Ire🧔land,” . “He’s a big character, he’ll be the first one to examine his own performances he’s always done that.
“🐬He’s c♏ome up and hasn’t started all that brilliantly and is under a bit of pressure, and of course the manager is under pressure because he’s brought him up but he’s not going to make the whole team.”
TBR’s view – Duffy will be a good signing for Celtic
The Hoops have not been good of late. But class is permanent and form, luckily for Celtic, ▨should only be temporary. The Hoops’ excellent depth will eventually return – as will the likes of star players Odsonne Edouard, Ryan Christie and James Forrest.
With their best players back, Celtic can return to their best♎ form and begin to reel in Rangers. Despite Celtic being under pressure, a return to form will only be around the corner – and they could start just that against Lille on Thursday night.
For Duffy, he needs to get back to basics, take advantage of Celtic returning ♛to a four-man defence and become a leader. Doing that, the £40,000-a-week star () will shine for the Hoops over the course of the season.
