Marsch backs Phillips and Cooper to make massive impact for Leeds
Jesse Marsch has admitted that Kalvin Phillips aꦚnd Liam Cooper are unlikely to both start for Leeds United’s clash with Southampton, but insisted that the pair will hav🏅e a massive impact on the Whites’ fortunes – in comments .
Both Cooper and Phillips were p𓂃art of the Leeds squad who travelled to Wolvꦡes before the international break. They were initially named on the bench at Molineux.

Neither player had played since the draw with Brentford in December. And that wait continued, with both left on the bench against Wolves despite Leeds needi🌜ng to make four substitutions in the 3-2 win.
Obviously, they have now had two weeks more to get ready. And supporters will be hoping that the♓y feature against the Saints at Elland Road on Saturday.

Leeds have boosted their hopes of staying in the Premier League with two wins before the break. And having Cooper and Phillips back for this weekend would pro⛦vꦍide a huge lift.
The good news for Leeds is that Marsch has now co🎐nfirmed that they are both in conte꧙ntion to feature.
“I think they’re both in contention to start. I ಌthink they’re both probably not fully 90 minutes fit but really close. I don’t think we can start both of them, because then it’s🐼 already potentially two subs we have to make but I think that we will think very carefully, we’ll have a meeting today about exactly where they are,” he said, .
“I’ve spoken with both of them already and they both are feeling good and they both are looking even better. So we’re obviously really exci✤ted to have them in the group now and think they can ཧboth have a massive impact in our team.”
Phillips needed more than Leeds captain Cooper
Of course, much will come down to how fit both players are. Marsch ultimately suggested that Phillips was never going to play at Wolves. So ๊he may be slightly behind Cooper in the race to be ready.
However, if Marsch is only going to start one, Phillips is surely the one to get the nod. Leeds missed him massively in the reverse fixture earlier this season. They had no way of getting the ball from the defence to 🎐attack successfully.
They do not have a natural replacemen𝓡t like they do for 🅰Cooper at centre-back.
Philli🧜ps starting from the off will certainly please many Leeds fans.
