Marc Guehi says Arsenal legend is his dream centre-back partner ahead of John Terry and Rio Ferdinand

As one of the biggest clubs in English football, Arsenal have had their fair share of legends over the decades.

From pre-war stars such as Bob John to more recent icons like Thierry Henry, the Gu🐭nners have called plenty of the greatest players in history their own.

Arsenal haveꦺ had many glory days, and a fair few of them have come in🎉 the last 30 or so years, thanks in part to a certain coach by the name of Arsene Wenger.

Now, Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi, one of the best Premier League defenders around, has revealed that an iconic Ar💃senal defender is his dream centre-back partner.

Indeed, Guehi picked said player over Chelsea legend John Terry, Manchester United icon Rio Ferdinand and Manchester City hero Vincent Kompany.

Marc Guehi picks Arsenal legend Tony Adams as his dream centre-back partner

Guehi is the latest guest on Sky Sports show The Sticker Book Challenge, where he was asked about a number of his peers froಌm past and present.

One of the segments was called Dream Defender, in which Guehi would be hypotﷺhetically bringing a Premier League legend out﷽ of retirement to play alongside.

Guehi had to choose be🅷tween Terry, Ferdinand, Kompany anꦅd Tony Adams, and he opted for the Arsenal legend.

“I’m going to be different, I’m going to go Adams,” he saꦐid.

When asked why, he said: “Nostalgic, he’s like one of the original – I would sayꩲ like Mr Arsenal.

“Also what he’s gone through in his career as well, and💧 for him to still be playing the way he was at such a high level…

“You know, playing for England, captaining Arsenal, win the league… just a real example, I would love to play with꧟ some🌠one like that. So yeah, Tony Adams.”

Tony Adams’ career

A💃dams spent the entirety of his 19-year club career as a centre-back atဣ Highbury.

He made 672 total app🌠earances for Arsenal and won four English league titles.

Adams unique🌼ly captained a title-winning team in three different decades – in 1989, 1991, 1998 and 2002.

He also won three FA Cups, two Football League Cups, a UEFAꦯ Cup Winners’ Cup and two FA Community Shields.

In addition, Adams won 66 caps for England between 1987 and 2000, and played at four tourname🌳nts with the♈ Three Lions.

Adams is ꦫone of six people honoure𝄹d with a statue outside the Emirates Stadium.
