Manchester United were eliminated from the FA Cup on penalties by Fulham and their supporters were left particularly impressed by one of the visitors’ key players.

However, missed spot kicks from Victor Lindelof and Joshua Zirkzee meant Ruben Amorim’s side exited the FA Cup with🍸 the Cottagers advancing to the quarter-finals.

Things could have been very different as United held talks to sign Berge last summer, but instead opted to sign Maunel Ugarte for £50m.
Berge, who Fulham signed for £25m, h💖as been superb for Marco Silva’s side this se🔴ason, having helped them to within four points of the Champions League spots.
United fans have ꧅now taken to X to share their views on Amorim’s team missing out on the chan🔥ce to sign him last summer.
One fan said: “Last summer I wanted United to sign both Ugarte and Sander Berge. This would have prepared us well for the eventual Casemiro 🎀departure. “
Another supporter claimed: “Sander Berge walks into that Man Utd midfield. To be fair, he probably has a look around and walks straight back out, but that’s not thꩵe point. He’s an absolute top drawer footballer.”
There was yet more praise for Berge: “The amou🦩nt of United fans that scoffed at Sander Berge loool he’d walk straight into our midfield.”
“Remember when people scoffed at the interest shown in Sander Berge when he was at Sheffield United? He looked so c𒐪omfortable on the ball. Could really do with someone like him in our midfield,” added another fan.
