Manchester City fans rave about Tommy Doyle after FA Cup win over Swansea City
💖Tommy Doyle was handed just his seventh Manchester City appearance at senior level on Wednesday night as the Premier League leaders eased past Championship side Swansea City in the FA Cup – and City fans are excited on Twitter.
🎶City were cruising by the time Pep Guardiola chose to bring Doyle onto the field of play. Goals from Kyle Walker, Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus all scored goals for Manchester City by the time the clocked reached 50 minutes.
ꦡDoyle, 19, came on with more than half an hour to play – and he impressed. Replacing Ilkay Gundogan, he was everywhere. The England Under-20 international even came close to scoring, but was visibly criticised by Guardiola from the touchline.

𒈔Indeed, Doyle was played in on the right and as seen with Guardiola’s teams over the years – normally a ball is played across the six-yard box and tapped home by a striker. Doyle, though, chose to shoot – flashing an effort past Freddie Woodman’s post.
꧙Having the confidence to try his luck from a free-kick from all of 25 yards, as well showing off some fancy tricks and backheels – Doyle certainly caught the eye, not least given Guardiola’s reaction to his decision to shoot, rather than cross.
🤪Manchester City supporters have reacted on Twitter to the performance of Doyle – and many applauded the City midfielder for his cameo role against Swansea, who scored their only goal late on through Morgan Whittaker.
Tommy Doyle is gonna be a fantastic player.

🍸Tommy Doyle would be a serious acquisition for a top half Championship team on Loan.
𝔉Bags of potential and some whip on them deliveries.

꧒Tommy Doyle looks a real player btw. Needs to tidy up some decisions in the final third but that’s an experience thing more than anything.

🀅Said it before and I'll say it again, Tommy Doyle could end up saving us a lot of money in the transfer windows ahead if Guardiola develops him like he did with Foden.
