Man Utd are the most likely club to sign £38m Arsenal target

Midfielders appear to be the order of the day in the Premier League at the moment, as many top clubs look to bolster in central areas.

Arsenal, Manchester United, Tottenham and Liverpool are all still in the market for new midfield players this summer, and one player who has been linked across the Premier League is Wolves’ Joao Gomes.

The Brazilian is said to be someone Arsenal are keen on, and according to Steve Kay, speaking on KS1 TV, the Gunners aren’t the only team in for the Brazilian.

Indeed, according to Kay, Chelsea have also asked about Gomes, while the journalist named Manchester United as favourites to secure the player’s signature.

Manchester United are favourites to sign Joao Gomes

The journalist shared what he knows about the £38m Wolves star.

“Yeah no, he’s a player Man Utd were looking at last season. It’s definitely one to keep an eye on. A player Real Madrid were after as well. For some reason he went to Wolves and he had a very good season,” Kay said.

“Yeah I think Liverpool are looking at other areas, I know Chelsea have been asking around and have enquired about him, but they’re bottled up. I would’ve thought that Man Utd would’ve been favourites if they can make a deal happen.”

What Micah Richards has said about Joao Gomes

The Premier League’s top clubs are all keen on Gomes, and it’s not hard to understand why.

The midfielder was excellent for Wolves last season, and Gomes even drew praise from Micah Richards at one point.

“And Gomes he is a player by the way. We don’t get to see Wolves too much on TV, but seeing him up close and personal,” Richards said.

“His touches, and seeing him when he wins the ball back, his weight of ball forward. Sorry Wolves fans, he is going to the top level.”

This is a very talented player who is worthy of a big move, and, by the sounds of things, he could be headed to Old Trafford.
