How Man City privately feel about Jonathan David and Liam Delap transfers revealed as they eye new striker

TBR Football can exclusively reveal that Jonathan David is on Manchester City’s list of targets ahead of the January transfer window.

Tottenham spoke to Jonathan David’s representatives, whose contract at LOSC Lille expires in the summer.

Jonathan David eyes a move to the Premier League, with Arsenal interested in signing the Lille striker as well.

Another English club that have been mentioned is the race is Manchester United, who are interested in Jonathan David as well.

Man City plotting Jonathan David January transfer

TBR Football’s chief correspondent Graeme Bailey can reveal that one of the striker targets Manchester City have shortlisted ahead of the winter window is Jonathan David.

TBR Football can confirm that the Sky Blues initially intended to sign a forward in the summer but their struggles in form have forced the club to target January as the window to bolster their attack.

City are also wary of Erling Haaland’s fitness, who has not had a deputy since Julian Alvarez’s move to Atletico Madrid.

As a result, Manchester City are monitoring David’s future, considering he has nearly six months left on his current contract.

However, Lille have no interest in selling either the Canadian nor Angel Gomes, who will also become a free agent in the summer.

If the French giants do offload the 24-year-old, the fee they will command will be much lesser than his current market value which is in excess of £50 million.

TBR Football can also confirm that Pep Guardiola’s men have been watching the in-form striker in recent weeks.

Canada manager Jesse March described David as “the most intelligent footballer” he has ever worked with on The Sports Network, which emphasises how special a player he is.

Manchester interested in Liam Delap return

Manchester City are interested in signing Liam Delap from Ipswich Town, as previously revealed by TBR Football.

Pep Guardiola remains a huge admirer of the Englishman as City are considering exercising the buy-back clause in his contract to bring him back to the Etihad Stadium.

However, Ipswich Town have no intention of letting the in-form number nine leave until the summer, leading Manchester City to assess other options such as David.

Ipswich, alongside West Ham United are targeting Middlesborough goalscorer Emmanuel Latte Lath.

Liam Delap is also attracting attention from Chelsea, as he continues to take the Premier League by storm.
