Luton Town hero Rowan Vine wants repeat of 5-1 Leeds United thrashing from 2006

Leeds United take on Luton Town at Kenilworth Road this weekend and will be hoping it is not a repeat of the last time 🌱the two clubs met at the ground in the Championship.

That was 🍌back in October 2006, when Luton thrashed Leeds 5-1. A brace from Carlos Edwards led the way whilst David Bell and Markus Heikkinen also ♚scored, with Hayden Foxe heading home Leeds’ equaliser.

The other sc🐎orer on that occasion was Rowan Vine and he has bee🦄n about this weekend’s game.

He realises this is an entirely different proposition for Luton. Leeds went on to finish bottom of the Championship that season, one place below Luto🎃n who were also relegated.

But he is still hopeful of a repeat.

“I think it’s finally clicking and (Marcelo) Bielsa is an unbelievable manager.

“It’s going to be a very tough game, but those are the games you want to be in and they’re the games why you win the league below, and you go up. They’re the ones, you want to be playing, those teams, as they’re a stern test.

“You knew what was going to happen at the start of the season, and funny things happen in football.

“You never know, they might turn it on and might nick a 5-1!”

Leeds will be fairly confident of not losing 5-1 considering their excellent defenඣsive recor🦄d so far this season. However, the Whites will be wary of a Luton side in desperate need of a return to form.

Whi🍰lst not quite London, Leeds do sometimes suffer when going away to this part of the world and will hope that that trend does not continue at the weekend📖.
