Luis Palma and Matt O’Riley seriously impressed by one Celtic teammate after St Mirren win

Celtic’s win over St Mirren in the Scottish Cup yesterday was probably one of the best performances of the season.

Let me be clear, it still wasn’t a polished performance from Brendan Rodgers‘ side but it was a marked improvement on what the fans had been watching over the previous few weeks.

The Hoops support have been looking for a spark from this team for weeks now and after Brendan Rodgers sprung a surprise team selection, hopes were high that the performance levels would be a marked improvement in recent weeks.

The headlines pre-match were taken over with Rodgers deciding to play Kyogo Furuhashi and Adam Idah from the start.

With the Japanese striker struggling of late, there was excited expectation from the Celtic fans to see how he would perform with a partner up front.

However, one Celtic player did steal the show yesterday and it wasn’t either of the two starting strikers.

Joe Hart delivered a Celtic masterclass vs St Mirren

The veteran goalkeeper has come in for some criticism over the past couple of months. However, against St Mirren yesterday, Hart was simply brilliant.

The highlight of his performance was the brilliant save from an Alex Gogic overhead kick which was vintage Hart.

And it didn’t go unnoticed by his Celtic teammates. Taking to , Hart posted the following message, “Big win. We move forward together COYBIG.”

The post was met with a plethora of replies from his Celtic teammates as they show appreciation for the 36-year-old’s impressive performance.

Matt O'Riley and Luis Palma send a message to Celtic teammate, Joe Hart.

It’s clear that Hart is still held in high regard and is a popular player within the Parkhead dressing room.

With his contract set to expire at the end of the season, the onus is now on the club to decide whether to offer him a new deal or not.

If Hart continues to pull off saves like he did yesterday, it would be very difficult for Celtic not to.
