Liverpool want Trent Alexander-Arnold to accept one condition if he wants to join Real Madrid before Club World Cup

TBR Football can exclusively reveal Liverpool’s demands to allow Trent Alexander-Arnold to join Real Madrid before the Club World Cup.

The Englishman confirmed on Monday that he will be leaving the club this summer.

Alexander-Arnold’s contract at Liverpool expires on the 30th of June this year. Real Madrid can sign the England star on a free transfer on the 1st of July, but the Galacticos want to secure his services sooner.

That’s because the Spanish giants will play in the FIFA Club World Cup, which is scheduled to start on the 14th of June this year.

Arne Slot’s side are open to that suggestion, but on their terms.

Liverpool’s demands to allow Trent Alexander-Arnold to join Real Madrid before the Club World Cup

TBR Football’s chief correspondent, Graeme Bailey, understands that Liverpool and Real Madrid are set for talks to discuss signing Trent Alexander-Arnold before his contract expires.

The Galacticos are keen to have the right-back for the Club World Cup this summer.

For that to happen, Liverpool will have to release the defender before his current contract expires on the 30th of June.

TBR can confirm that Real Madrid have been keeping Liverpool informed about the situation and are keen to discuss the possibility of an early release.

The Reds are open to that suggestion, but they have certain demands.

We can reveal that Liverpool will seek compensation from Real Madrid if they want to sign Alexander-Arnold before the end of his contract. The Premier League winners also want the defender to forego his salary for the final month of his deal.

If Liverpool’s demands are met, the overall fee will be close to £1 million including Alexander-Arnold’s wages, plus add-ons.

The real reason why Alexander-Arnold decided to leave Liverpool

There has been a lot of speculation around Alexander-Arnold’s future over the last few months.

It always seemed likely that the Englishman would leave Liverpool at the end of his contract, especially after he turned down the offers that were put in front of him by the Reds.

The reason behind Alexander-Arnold’s decision to leave is not money – he just wanted to try a new adventure.

“I have never known anything else (other than Liverpool), and this decision is about experiencing a new challenge, taking myself out of my comfort zone and pushing myself both professionally and personally,” he said in his farewell post.
