Liverpool reportedly want PL club’s £10m lefty, Coady says can ‘turn you inside out’
Liverpool are reportedly one of a number of European heavyweights in pursuit of Wolves ace Rayan Ait-Nouri. A player, that Conor Coady raved about in 2020 – claiming he can “turn you inside out”.
Ait-Nouri, 20, has been excellent for Wolves since joining the club on an initial loan from Angers. That deal was made permanent in the summer for a fee of £10million – and with every minute, Ait-Nouri is improving.
Little surprise, then, that other clubs have become interested. that Liverpool are battling the likes of Manchester City, Tottenham, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona all interested in his services.
Liverpool do have options at left-back, with Konstantinos Tsimikas being afforded more game time this season as Andy Roberts’s back-up. Wales international Neco Williams is more than capable of playing on the left.
But Ait-Nouri might be too good to ignore, if the price is right. Back in 2020, Wolves skipper Coady gave his verdict on the France Under-21 star, saying he has “bags of tricks” and is “brilliant to have around”.

“He’s really sharp. He turns you inside out. He’s got bags of tricks. It’s important we try and help him settle in as much as possible,”
“He’s a young boy coming from a different country. He’s a fantastic person, he’s brilliant to have around the place, and it’s up to us as teammates and friends to make him settle as quickly as possible and hopefully we’ll keep on going.”
Coady on Ait-Nouri: Do Liverpool really need Wolves star?
Tsimikas has impressed at this near-halfway point of the season. When given the chance, the Greece international has looked excellent going forward. His delivery is up there with the best in the Liverpool squad.
Scotland skipper Robertson is arguably in the top three left-backs in world football. Ait-Nouri is not needed, but that is only if Tsimikas is happy to remain as cover for Robertson. If he grows tired, Ait-Nouri is a good replacement.
