Liverpool: Klopp discusses Mignolet return; takeover talks dashed; Middlesbrough win reaction

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp made a big call last night as he decided to drop Loris Karius in favour of Simon Mignolet, who kept a clean sheet 🎃in 🐼an assured display after an error prone few weeks for Karius. Klopp :

“The situation is LFC is a long-term project. We really want to improve the club. We know we have to be successful ꩲas soon as possible, but on the other hand we all feel comfortable in the situation with each other – the goalkeepers included. I know how strong Loris Karius is, but unfortunately he couldn’t 🀅show it in the last one, two, three games… I am absolutely not interested in public pressure… In the end, everything is one little mistake – which can happen to each goalkeeper in the world.”

Karius will now have to prove himself on the training field and wait for his next opportunity but will undoubtedly hav🏅e been affected by the recent public criticism and Klopp’s decision.

Club owner John W Henry took to Twitter yesterday to deny rumours from TalkSPORT🦹 that a Chinese consortium is nearing a takeover of the club, ꦐas he replied to journalist Ian Abrahams by saying:

F𝓡ew doubted Fenway Sports Group’s commitment to the cause at Anfield after their recent investment in redeveloping much of the stadium, but speculation still sur⛎faced of a potential takeover.

On the field, Adam Lallana was at his⛎ best last night to help his side to a🦂 3-0 victory over Middlesbrough. Jurgen Klopp discussed the display, :

“[Am I] thrilled? Yes, with the result for sure – and the performance was, of course, really good. The nice thing is when you even have something to improve in a good game – and we had things to do betꦡ𒁃ter in the second half. You could really see how the boys took the information and did it.”

Divock Origi also continued his fine form adding his fifth goal in five games as he eases the absence of star man Philippe Co𓄧utinho.
