Liverpool fans make claim about Kostas Tsimikas and Andy Robertson after win over Lille

Liverpool made it seven wins in a row in the Champions League thanks to their 2-1 win over Lille at Anfield on Tuesday night.

The Reds opened the scori🅘ng in the 34th minute when Mohamed Salah scored with a first-time finish from Curtis Jones’ superb through-ball.

Jonathan David equalised for Lille just after the hour, but Harvey Elliott then put Liverpool ahead again via a deflection in the 67th minute.

Darwin Nunez also saw a goal ruled ouꦡt for offside, while Lille finished the game with ten men due to Aissa Mandi receiving two bookings.

The result ensured that Liverpool would go through to the last🃏 16 of the Champions League as table-toppe♏rs.

Arne Slot opted to start Kostas Tsimikas ahead of Andrew Robertson in the game, and plenty of Liverpool fans had 💖their say on🔯 both players.

Liverpool fans say Kostas Tsimikas should be starting ahead of Andrew Robertson

Liverpool fans were mostly pleased with Tsimikas’ performance, with💫 plenty s🌠aying he’s been better than Robertson.

One fan said: “Tsimikas’ ability on the ball puts him well ahead ♚of Robertson.”

Another wrote: “Such a shame Robertson would still star🧸t on Saturday. Tsimikas has been good except for the first 10 minutes at Brentford.”

The praise for Tsimikas kept coming, with one fan saying: “Tsimikas when he gets a run of games under his belt is wayꦍ better than this version oܫf Robertson.”

A🦹nother wrote: “Call me delusional, calꦬl me biased, but I honestly think Tsimikas has been better than Robertson this season.”

And another fan added: “Kostas Tsim♒ikas is a starter ahead and of Robertson for me. Tsimikas is finding that form he had at the start of the season, before his injury.”

At the end of the game, one supporter said: “Many outstanding players but if I have to pi﷽ck a MOTM I will give it to Tsimikas.

“Hardly put a foot wrong…his perfect tackle on J. David 𒈔ꦉset up for the goal. Very solid defensively.”

How Tsimikas fared against Lille

Tsimikas was solid against Lil෴🌱le for the most part and played a big part in the opener as he won back possession to set up Jones for the through-ball to Salah.

Admittedly, David’s goal came about after the bal🐟l came off Tsimikas and back to the Lille striker, but there wasn’t much the Liverpool man could do about it.

All in𝓀 all, 🃏it was a solid display from Tsimikas and he’ll fancy his chances of another start this weekend.

Liverpool are in Premi🎃eღr League action against Ipswich Town on Saturday in a 3pm kick-off at Anfield.
