Liverpool are looking at signing ‘excellent’ Premier League defender

The January transfer window is almost upon us, and Liverpool could be busy this winter.

✱The Reds may be sitting pretty at the top of the league, but there are still some gaps in their squad that need plugging.

Liverpool wanted a new centre-back in the summer, but they failed to get anyone in, while the Reds also wanted a new holding midfielder player as Arne Slot tried to sign Martin Zubimendi.

༒As we’ve progressed through this season, another problem position has emerged – left-back.

𝓡Andy Robertson hasn’t been at his best this term, and a long-term replacement could be needed.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano has named Milos Kerkez as a potential option for Liverpool.

Liverpool like Milos Kerkez

According to Romano, both Liverpool and Manchester United are admirers of Milos Kerkez.

Arsenal were also linked with Kerkez in the summer.

𓂃“Man United are working on a new left-back, for sure United will do something there. And what I can say is one player they have been monitoring even before Ruben Amorim is Milos Kerkez at Bournemouth,” Romano said.

✱“Liverpool are doing the same. Liverpool director Richard Hughes knows the player well and the excellent skills and excellent qualities of the player, so they are monitoring Kerkez.”

💃“For Liverpool, for sure he is a player they appreciate. For sure they like him, but before saying they are going for him, we have to wait.”

Milos Kerkez compared to Andy Robertson

🌃Replacing Andy Robertson will be a very tough task for any left-back.

𓄧Robertson has been one of the Premier League’s best full-backs𓃲 for a long time, but he does appear to be declining now.

🐟Indeed, Robertson hasn’t been at his best this season, and the stats suggest that Kerkez could be an upgrade.

♔At the age of just 21, Kerkez has tons of room to grow and improve as well, and he should be able to settle in at Liverpool rather easily.

꧑Arne Slot will know Kerkez well from his time in the Eredivisie, while as a Hungary international, Kerkez will already have a professional relationship with Dominik Szoboszlai.

🔴This is certainly a situation to keep an eye on as Liverpool gear up to restructure their defence and potentially replace Robertson.
